I don't know the details behind how the scams work, but I've been told that manys scam sites can duplicate a sign in page for a variety of sites, then once you type your password in they have it... I had gotten a birthday message from some dating site that I have never even heard of, they emailed it to me at my yahoo, and knew my birthdate was the 5th of this month.... So either I logged in to a fake thing somewhere along the lines or there is alot of selling of information going on, with alot of sites...JMO I know everytime I log into one site i'm on, some classmates thing always pops up, and I have those pop ups block...
