Do we by blackmail show the love that we should show many times during each month? Are we not compelled by a hard sale tactic to relieve us of money for their profit when we should show our love many times without force. Is it not obligation that drives many to do the things they do that day. Curse the false love shown that day, instead love the ones you loves each day and show it many times each month and several times just for the love in you of them without pressures. What fools we are that think we show love by obligations.professor

I dunno, I look at Valentines Day as more of a celebration of the love that you have w/ a special someone, more so than it being a single day out of the year that we show love to that special someone.

If more men did show it every day, maybe there wouldn't be a need for such a holiday. laugh

OK...my serious answer now. I agree, Len. Love should be shown every day, and little gifts or special things done regularly, not just one day a year. Love should never feel obligated. Trust me. sigh

Celebrate that love not by a calendar posted by others but by the love in your heart each day. Doing more so many times in the month.

Flowers picked by the road....show you did something only for her and your thoughts were only of her. It is a more pure gift that Roses from valentines day given....she never knows if it was because of love or obligation truly.

I agree, Len. Gifts from the heart cost little, but are worth much more than a thoughtless, expensive gift. And to me, the standard roses or chocolates on Valentine's Day are just that...thoughtless and empty.

I'd rather have wild-crafted flowers anytime (especially if he gets the roots or rizomes, too, for replanting...that would show he was really thinking of me). laugh

i totally agree with you,it's the same as new years eve, people kill each other every day, wars, fighting, domestic as well.just idiots on the streets that get angry and want to hurt someone. why does it take just one night out of the year,to look to your neighbour, strangers, families, and sing and the next day be at war again, one night should turn into massive nights, sharing caring compassion, and love. make it all through the year people and stop hurting and killing each other, and then say i'm sorry or i love you,on NEW YEARS' EVE.SADhandshake dunno confused hug crying

I've always celebrated Valentines Day as they day that you first met the person that you love. As the rest of the year is for showing them how much you love about them. wine
