Ralf74: Vent away, sometimes you just seem to get a run of these things. Most people don't approach me coz I look and sound harsh, so that's why they avoid me. I don't tolerate stupid too well. I hope all gets better for you soon.

farkers that can't read & fill in their applications correctly 
ringing up major companies...ie telephone company, going through ALL the details of name, address etc etc, only to then be told, our opening ours are 8am to 6pm EADST (which by the time I called meant they were CLOSED !!!!)

I worked at a place in 1970 and there were 166 shop floor employees and 4 office staff - ratio circa 40 to 1.
The wages were never late, and it was a very rare occurence if they were incorrect.
In the late-eighties, there were only 62 employees and 12 office staff - a ratio of circa 5 to 1 - the whole office was computerised and the wages were often late and often incorrect.
Go figure.....

well i didnt want to say this and in reality i'm sitting in my office going to put the kettle on and try to attemp some constructive illusion that i'm getting paid to actually work besides having my chinese fighting fish who's name is storm i'm lonely. might go 2 the gym on saturday i'm a likable chap.Ralf74: Here in Bacchus, we have 3 pedestrian crossings across the main drag (which isn't very big). What pisses me is the amount of parents that just wander out onto the crossing without stopping to check that the vehicles are in fact going to stop nor are they teaching their children any road safety. There is parking either side of the crossings which makes it hard for the cars to see anyone approaching the crossings and I myself have almost hit somebody because they were walking in my front pillar blind spot, she was about a third of the way across the crossing when I finally saw her and I think we both had kittens. It irritates me as a driver that these pedestrians have no regard for their own safety.

The attitude is...well...I'm on the crossing, you have to give way to me... My attitude is..well.. when I run over you cos you didn't give me time to stop, then you won't have that attitude anymore, you'll be in hospital

That became all too common in Edmonton, where I lived for years. A few years ago they repealed the law stating that pedestrians have the right of way, and oddly enough, people didn't waltz out in front of moving vehicles as often.
Not saying it's open season on jaywalkers, but they don't have the law behind them if they're not in a crosswalk or looking both directions before crossing anymore.

That sounds like an awesome idea! I don't drive everywhere, i actually park the car and walk around town so i am a pedestrian a lot of the time and i am not against people crossing the road at all, i just wish they would look for their own safety, especially when they are role models for children!!

i didn't say that they don't have right of way. I said for the sake of their own self preservation they should look before wandering out in case a 1 ton vehicle or heavier travelling at them has actually seen them and is capable of stopping before it does in fact run into them.
