serene56: I think the advent of internet dating promoted an expectation in single people that it's the answer?

Basically, nothing's really changed as far as the difficulty in meeting people once we're past the picket fence/smoke coming out of the chimney/raising babies part of our lives.

Except the (possibly unrealistic) expectation that internet dating sites promote.

I Agree, you automatic assume you will meet someone because you know it is based on others wanting the same thing (apparently). You don't always go out socially to meet someone, it usually just happens that way but that is the primary objective of getting on a dating site.

Sorry to hear that Merri. From what I have read about you, you are a very vibrant person with a love for your garden and your family, and life in general. Why else would you go to the overseas Meet a couple of years ago and be planning another overseas trip soon. Go girl, enjoy your life, tv has nothing on going to experience things.

You have said how much dancing has been a major part of your life but that you have left your devotion to it behind, just want to enjoy watching it (and maybe doing a little bit as well).

If you are still interested in the guy, maybe Lookin and I could arrange to have a little chat to the guy to make him understand what a great person he is missing out on. Might take a bit of knee-capping and ruin his chances of dancing....................

ps. Another desert trip is in the planning for 2014, some very remote and usually red sandy areas if you are interested. No Atomic Bomb Sites on the itinerary (yet) confused confused help

Agreed. Our societies teach us to always look for the bigger, better, brighter, never be happy with what we had/got.

For me, I just wanted someone who would actually commit and want to be in a relationship and who doesn't believe in the "throw away society" of today. Bored with that one, throw it out and get another model.

I didn't have a lot of picky expectations. Looks - not important. Compatibility - comes and goes as we fluctuate in our bio-rythms. Commitment - the glue that holds our decision to love someone in its place.

Many deem love to be a feeling. Love is a decision that we make, that decision can be influenced by pheromones, lust, infatuation, money, all sorts of things. But ultimately, we choose to love someone or we choose not to.

I'm happy with my choice, and she is beautiful and gets more beautiful every day. Why, because every day I learn something new about her, every day we give something of ourselves to each other - even when we don't always want to. Everyday we overlook our partner's faults and not-so-nice things that come out from time to time. Everyday we accept each other for who we are, and everyday we are content with our choice.

Obviously they have realised who you are and remember you for what you have said that got you banned from other sites....

You are a chick magnet..... a chick with a vendetta and a trolley....

Maybe consider changing your jokes....
