Well, well, well. I become active on here for a couple of days and "wham" .... the scammers start sending me prolific emails to my inbox.

What really gets me is the fact that they don't even look at my profile....

Ha ha. It makes it really easy to tell that they are scammers. Most start with "Hello dear"......

Maybe I should change my handle to "Rudolf"...... wink

I block all countries except Australia/New Zealand, that cuts out most of the scammers and if any do get through they're easy enough to spot.

I never had any problems with scammers contacting me, if it were 5 in all the time I'm here, it might have been a lot.

I blocked ALL incoming mail because I got sick of the "ride requests" of locals who don't bother reading a profile.

I'm not looking on here, so I don't need to read the mostly unpleasant mail coming in locally. There are some great peeps from other countries I like keeping in contact with, who are interesting, funny and articulate and it's nice to share a laugh and thoughts with them. conversing

At least the scammers were mostly polite. A lot of "genuine" guys turned instantly abusive when told there was no interest for whatever reason.

Yes, had that happening and stopped replying to guys I had nothing in common with. Who do they think they will attract with that behaviour? doh

At least it proved my gut feeling was right to say no in the first place :)

I feel bad not replying if someone's messaged me, but sometimes it's more hassle than appearing ignorant.

I did reply to all emails in the start, but because of the stuff I was getting back from some "gentlemen", I stopped.

It's a shame really. wave

I'm not a career woman but always on the go - this is one thing I actually like to take my time. smitten

Jeez, I need a massage, hot bath and something to majorly relax me. frustrated

Maybe not going that often to the gym might help as well. confused

Kiwi oil rig worker Mike McKay insists MH370 search is misplaced

He had gone to bed on the oil rig Songa Mercur, located off the coast of the Vietnamese town of Vung Tau, at his usual time of around 7pm.

"I got up at around midnight Vietnam Time, which is one hour ahead of Malaysian time, and wandered around to an area at the back as usual for a cigarette and a coffee. It was a beautiful night with good visibility because it had been raining, which always tends to clear the air.

"It would have been some time after 1am (Malaysian Time) that I saw a sudden glow of fire above the horizon, which caught my immediate attention, although, of course I could not have known whether it was definitely an aircraft or not."

Mr McKay said he took no immediate action but when he learned the following day that MH370 was missing - when it should have flown on across southern Vietnam towards Beijing - he tried in vain to contact Malaysian and Vietnamese officials.
