Man -vs.- Dog

Here it is the new year, and i've come to some conclusions
The Love I want for the rest of my life is nothing but delusions.

I had that love for 50 years so wonderful and true, guess I'm just to old now, to have it again, so what am i to do?

I have searched and searched and never found, the man who loves me true
so i will just stay at home with my two little dogs, who love me no matter what i do.

they are always here for me, now Men? I'll send them packing!
they are fickle and selfish and want what they want, and then they throw you away.I will believe thats true til my dying day.

So I'll just be with my 2 little dogs, until my time here is through. I guess
just because I ask God for something, doesnt mean I will get it.
sometimes his answer is.... "honey, just forget it"

My humble advice is, dear Nevadalady, not to jump into conclusions and keep living a joyful and rigorous life. Life is full of surprises. Before giving up we have a long road ahead. Let's walk looking forward. Thank you for your heartfelt poem.
