Are human rights a yardsale.. Bargained for a buck or two Exposed to the elements of chance Awaiting vultures to pick through Will rain dampen the hopes Of our most sacred possession The right to choose as we will Without fear of retaliation~

About this poem:
A tribute to those who battle against the foes of liberty..
Hi, cafetwo2010, human rights are those we bestow upon ourselves and others - and we are, after all, only human. So, unfortunately, sacred possessions often do go to the highest bidder. Still, when the poet can write such, my hopes are not dampened by the rain!

Ty 'earl' and 'andrew..' A most delicate subject indeed. A fragile shell painted with pretty colors..yet containing a yoke tempered with iron..
cafe, yes there are those who would argue that they are auctioned, others said they are inalienable...way too much possibility for 3000 characters. i do totally agree w GNJ. ;-)
Yes, our most sacred possession is the right to choose and we must defend this right even if retaliation is imminent, hold our own without fear. Thank you.
