The Past is all We Own

When all seems lost
And problems found
When you head is up
But your heart is down

Remember times of past
The joy you bring
To others souls, that sweet sweet thing
That caused them to smile and your hearts to sing

The power of love
Your upright stance
The joy of hope
Another chance

A strength that melts away the cold
Intense with light so bright and bold
This is a mystery yet untold
Within one’s self both young and old?

You see that past that caused the pain
Holds memories of hope again
It s not just the theme of sleepless nights
But filled with goodness blessed and bright

And when the stars fall to the ground
They no longer burn holes deeply profound
But rather empower and eradicate
All misery and shame of late

Who knows the hour when we arise
When we say enough! To all those lies
Spoken against us by weaker cries
Those bullies who now just sigh
The defeated foes of how and why?

Thank you for your victory cry!
That went up into the sky!
This is the special reason why
We own the past and never die!

Very good, symbolic of the battle against our own worst enemies. thumbs up

Yes. Perhaps that can happen when we submit to the past? The bits we wish we could change.
I like the way you took that stanza to describe yourself. (Not because I wrote it, but because I get a sense of the strength and nobility that abides within you).
God bless Paul.

Yes Dante! I never actually thought of that myself, but you are right.
