Janette

JANETTE

Like a colour that has no true name
locked within a gale to me you came.
That I loved you I showed so clearly
yet I loved you too long too dearly!

We wed in our own private hurricane
before we knew our love was in vain.
I left you in your insidious tornado
on a path where no grass could grow!

I became like the wind ever searching
restless for the calm time can bring.
I lived too long with our young dream
till the day truth arrived on a beam!

The madness of our time has been cast
I am at peace now away from our past.
Though some things will remain unsaid
my love’s haunting ghost of you, is laid!
