How do I let go
How do i let go of you
when you linger in my mind
I am haunted by your absence
only sadness did you leave behind
I want so much to move on
though the pain worsens with you gone
Stuck somewhere between now and then
wishing I could free your image from my head
With others I have tried to feel
but nothing ever seems to feel as real
My emotions now numb
no feelings are left inside
All I am left with
are the tears I have cried

Thanks for sharing this poem that explores the frustrations of trying to figure out How do I let go, when only sadness did you leave behind. Yes, the process of letting go defies reason and sets its own clock.
