My head hurts
to hot to think
to hot to move
except maybe to drink

fleas on the dogs
are even off searching for shade
on the wickedly hot day
the heat wave as made

the earth is parched
we need rain for the land
please mother nature
can you lend us a hand

the flowers are wilted
the grass is brown
i'm longing for rain
to come flowing down
