As I walk amongst a country meadow I catch the scent of Nature’s goods But as I walk further in the grass I come upon a field of daisies With a single rose in the very middle. I question myself upon picking it Should it die if I break the stalk? Or will it live on Nourished by the love in my hands? I ponder upon the inquiry regarding her For she is a unique flower A rose among the daisies.
In my dreams, I view myself Working as a humble gardener Tending to all that is beautiful I catch a glimpse of something unusual Red among the carpet of white upon the ground. To find a sight so rare I wish to hold her within my hand But do I even deserve to Embrace something as lovely as she? I cannot deny the fact of loving her so As I cherish this most beautiful sight A rose among the daisies

This was written 20 years ago as I was thinking of my infatuation for a friend in college.
