Battlefield

So longing turns to honest reflection
The bright dawning of day
For once upon a time two people met
Not one honest with the other
Ones fancy lead to the others disgrace

He danced the dance a time or two
Only to his own heart be true
Not seeing what was before him still
Pointing out the discord of others that played
He stood apart from the battle where hearts layed
His battle scorn heart protecting that which lay within
Not looking deep to see one’s own sin

She ponders the thought of what she did
Knowing full well her reflection hid
Afraid to say no to his lead the empty destruction of his heed
Wanting only to share in the light, darkness fell upon the delight
She knew deep within the fiery darkness he lay
She was weak to the sorrow sin for her own battles lay within
She walked into the evil guile believing only in goodness desires

So evil had its way bringing down two hearts for what they portrayed
Scorn and dislike lay in its wake, it is not enough to be true to you
Life is too short to live in your own glory
Accept your part in the battles that play, for you were as much apart of the fray
All the blame cast upon the other once again
It is hard to see one’s own part but this we must not depart
Accept one’s own faults in the stumbles of the dance
I have and will tho shame bears its part, be honest with your dealings with me
Be honest with your part for the battlefield reflects the bloody depart
Of a war between and within thyself is clear to see
The gun was lifted, loaded and shot
The marching came upon the doorstep you entered
The blood was taken from the saber tongue
To kill all peace within once again
