Binding Night

you stepped into the light of the kitchen bright
barely able to stand upright
oh how my heart went out to bring you comfort through out
to give you solace and comfort for the doubt
that plagued you all about
my arms took yours and lead to comfort for thee
gently laying your head next to mine such sweet harmony
chin placed on my shoulder arms holding me tight
your breath upon my cheek lulled me to sleep
I thought only to give you comfort that night
When what to my surprise you pierced thru my demise
You gave me comfort lasting longer than that night
Wrapped in your gentle arms did I
Feel such peace unbeknownst to the eye
Oh dear sweet darling do you not know
How that one night holds me so
I try to let go but it holds me tight
Even when you are far from sight
I need you now darling more than I know
And words won’t let me tell you so
