A Great Mistake

She thought she was the babysitter
He thought she was his birthday present
She came with nerves and gitters
He just thought she was heaven sent

She should have been at door five-o-two
He was impatiently waiting in five-o-eight
Both were nervous, neither had a clue
Of what the other expect from this date

His friends had sent the usual gift he thought
He would have the same fun he does every year
Talk her out of the profession of being bought
The contact for a new start he'd share

For an extra buck she must be a sitter
She is the sole provider for a family of four
Knowing she cannot afford to be a quiter
She had tiredly knocked on this door

When she got mad he was first confused
But his lecture to her mind was just rude
When he realised his mistake he was so amused
As he laughed she kept calling him crude

They were married six months later
He found the lady of his dreams that day
She found her life's partner
They are happy that is all there is to say
