He sits watching at the kitchen table, The woman breaks the eggs into the bowl of ingredients, Her hair flowing freely down her back, His shirt she is wearing reaching to her knees, Her bare legs and feet teasing him.
She reaches for the milk and beats the mixture, Pours it out into the pan and turns with a smile, Holding out the pan for him to help her put it into the oven.
He takes in how she looks, flour coats her cheek, and milk stains the front of his shirt, he smiles at the picture she makes.
Stands up and takes the pan from her, and the soft round mound of his child comes into his view, he leans down and kisses the woman he loves, walks over and places the cake into the hot oven.
