Todays messages of love so fast, instant emotions as can be, how I long for the past, of love letters you wrote to me,
I remember the scented letter, with annotations on the back, your written words always made me better, waiting patiently for that postmans sack,
To see your hand pen those words, when calm your writing would be eloquent, saying things of love and others absurd, but to read your feelings of what you meant,
Holding those letters was like touching you, reading absorbing your emotions intent, your words always in my minds view, of love letters you always sent.

About this poem:
With the vast array of computer generated messages and cards which become stored upon our systems we need to boot to read those messages of love. Yet the good old days in which you would keep those treasured envelopes in a special place tied with a ribbon a permanent keepsake. Would it not be nice to return to some of the old ways of love and courtship?
Yes Steve, my friend... but, I also remember when "Postal Stamps were 2 cents"! Great nostalgic & poignant write. Robert

The days of no instant messages or cell phones made the receiving of letters such a pleasant way of keeping in touch with loved ones especially if overseas and away from home.
