When I first saw you, Your eyes so soft and brown, I knew it could not be true, not so much a wrinkle or lines of frown,
Heavily made up to brighten your shell, Soft spoken words without a lisp, You don't need all that effort to be my Southern Belle, Those sensitive lips that I longed to kiss,
Exquisitely formed to shape you this woman, Our minds eye formed a single cell, Both hearts were gently humming, We liked each other, this we could tell,
Oh I wish you was the one, For our love would always be so tender, In your hands I could place my soul and heart upon, Alas this is not to be for in your heart I was not the same gender.

About this poem:
A little light hearted look on how one can fall in love with someone whom they may feel is right but for obvious reasons they are not...?
