Missed Chance

What does one do or say,
Standing there awaiting you,
Text message sent not now, never or today,
Easy option for many to do,

Reading through that painful text,
your reasons I already knew,
it will be a long time when your ready for a next,
But I will not place any blame on you,

I thank you for that warm embrace,
those sweet words of encouragement too,
but I will remember your fingers trace,
and hope your heart settles for you,

So I walked through hometown city,
shoppers rushing by, heart full of gloom,
smiling as I went, please for me no pity,
to return to car and drive home to lonely room.

About this poem:
When does one finally take a step back and forget this dating lark or does one still try and hope for the best?

"Our greatest weakness lies in giving up. The most certain way to succeed is always to try just one more time." (Thomas A. Edison) In your place I would not give up, would try again, cause this is life and things happen in life every day! And your room is neither lonely, nor empty - it is vibrantly alive and full of your hopes.

"I wish I loved and were loved in lifetime,
I wish it were with me that you would fall in love.
God only knows how much I crave for someone,
Wish it were you I craved for, passerby."

That day will come, my dear poet! Wishing you luck with all my heart,
Your fellow poetess
hug heart wings
