The wind was strong last night when I came to bed... And the thought of surf in the harbour wouldn't leave my head... so I knelt and prayed... for the tropical depression to bring to our waters some good decent surf I woke up this morning with your kiss on my forehead I noticed as you left wind had died down no chance for a surf Even now as I write this... It is so calm ... It feels absurd Then Easter flashed thru my mind... And somewhere in the distance Agnes Waters visited my head I hope you'll take the chance. Dip your hands into your bucket list pick one that you can tick To give your loving heart and soul that much needed push and lift

About this poem:
Hoping the tropical depression brings my husband a chance to indulge into something he longs for a lot but he can't have enough of where we are...
Hi Kathy, Nu is a surfer?!...Hahahahahahaha, an old "Beach Bum" huh?! Nice wish for Nu...you both are very lucky to have each other, I sure do envy you both! Robert

Remind me to bring along my surf board. Cool write, enjoyed the read my friend. Surfs up
Kathy, The great thing is that you both try!...in my eyes, that make you a perfect pair!..."Love" is more than love for "Love's" sake it is the giving of oneself to the other!...with that, you have a "Treasure" more precious than gold! Take care Robert

Hi Kathy,
Thanks for bringing up a topic familiar to my youth. Nothing like a good surf. Having said that it's usually a pretty good time of year here in Australia in that the water's still warm. Suggest to your hubby that perhaps he could try wind surfing. It's pretty exciting and you don't have to rely on a swell. Cheers
Thanks Babe ......it is hard to get motivated to go out when the wind is 40knots and the ocean a washing machine and the rain is blasting your eyes much rather prefer a glassy 3foot crystal clear day........must be getting old he he
Hi Robert...thank you dear poet...yes we do try and that is one of the many blessings I am always going to be grateful with for having Nu in my life...thank you once again...you have a beautiful heart Robert...
Steve I am most honoured by your comment, thank you so much...and thank you again for the lovely wish you have for us. I have so much respect for people who are happy for others...because I know that only those with big and good hearts can openly share in the happiness of others and wish them well too. Between you and Robert...you've made my day! And for the record...we are so lucky in this corner for having the chance to mingle with lovely and real people like you. Kathy and Nu
So I knelt and prayed... For the tropical depression to bring to our waters some good decent surf I woke up this morning with your kiss on my forehead I notice as you left wind had died down no chance for a surf You are a lovely couple OK, you bring love alive, I love this poem so much, even though I know nothing at all about surfing. I imagine you laying in bed listening to the wind, brings to my mind such a cosy image.
Hey there Mustapha...oh dear! no idea what happened there...seem I got lost in the thick of the comment thread...sorry mate...I'm getting old...my glasses don't even work now...
But thanks for the "cool write" approval from you. I told Nu when he came home last night he might want to read my "ten minute wonder". I penned this shortly as he left yesterday...I think I was feeling a bit disappointed we did not get much rain as I need it in the garden...ha ha ha! Glad you enjoyed it... Shame isn't it that we all are from different corners of the globe...we could catch up by the beach once in a while. I don't surf...can't even swim...but I really enjoy watching surfers ride the waves...so I get just as much fun just watching when Nu goes surfing...
Phyllis my dear friend thank you for being always being there supporting, inspiring...people like you and your beautiful hearts makes this corner a pleasant place to be.
Yes they do love the waters here...I do too but it's one area I might never have a chance to explore...
Hi Rob it's lovely to see you here...always an honour to hear from you sir. Nothing like a good surf indeed ... I've always admired surfers before but after hearing Nu talk a lot about it I have come to not just admire them but respect them a lot too. I feel sorry for him at times because the beach is just a few minutes away from us but no surf here...and the stingers too kinda limits us in the water...I don't usually go in the water...much too scared to be stung
Will extend to him your suggestion...I hope it won't take too long before we can relocate near where he can surf...somewhere in NSW at least ...if not in NZ... and again thank you for joining us in this thread...
Chrissie I am glad to see you like this... I to have no clue when it comes to surfing... Nu has enlightened me in a way that I enjoy watching surfers more now I guess as I have grown to have more respect for the sport. I just happen to know my husband longs for nothing but to be one with the surf... So every opportunity I'd love him to have a chance...thanks again ...
Ken sorry mate...too late a reply to your comment...just the page rolls too fast each day ...one can easily lose track of poems...even our own poems. Thank you for your kind remarks, unfortunately we did get a bit of a swell but not enough for Nu to want to go out there... thanks again, always appreciated!
