Broken

In the beginning you said things you always meant
Like "I love you" and things that she can't forget
You told her to trust you and open her heart
Now all that you've left is a hole in her heart
You did things that made her believe in you
Now she's asking, "what do I really mean to you"?
Her friends sometimes wonder what she sees in you
They say that she can do better by leaving you

You were charming and witty, always making her laugh
Now the things you say and do end up making her sad
What happened to you were you make belief?
Did you say and do anything to make her believe?
How could you deceive her, was it all a lie?
Or was it all just a dream and she's gonna be fine
"Please tell me" she says as she looks in your eyes
That you loved like she did and that love never dies

But you know what you've done because you've done it before
The lies, the promises open the door
To you it's a game that you never lose
Every play, every word you say is a ruse
So now look away and do it again
Say whatever, love made her a fool to the end
Promises, promises she'll never know
The truth till you've broken her heart, then you go.
