The Birth of Love

Author: mymoonbeam

When first we met, I knew you were
a part of me not yet enjoined.
Your eyes sparkled with a depth of feeling,
or was that a reflection of my own?
I felt your heart touch mine,
as our hearts collided in a dance of joy.
Your hand reached towards mine,
causing my whole being to come alive,
ready to burst into flame.
Awakened desire flamed anew within me.
I saw your look
and heard your heart speak to mine.
Where would we go from here?
I only knew that moment
and I trasured it.

About this poem:
This is another one of the poems I wrote in a series about the stages of love. They seemed to come pouring forth and wouldn't stop until the last one was written. For all of you who write poetry, I'm sure you've had that experience. Being able to express our feelings in this form is such a gift to be treasured.

Hi, mymoonbeam,
Your eyes sparkled with a depth of feeling, or was that a reflection of my own? The beginning of love is such a mystery. Welcome to Poet's Corner.
