The ROUNDEL is a deritave of rondeau and rondine... It has eleven lines constructed from two quatrains, and a triplet. The rhyme scheme only has two rhymes and a refrain from the first phrase of first line, thus, the second line rhymes with the refrain:.. a. b. a.B . b. a. b . a. b. a. B.. example: If he could know my songs are all for him, At silver dawn or in the evening glow, Would he not smile and think it but a whim, If he could know? Or would his heart rejoice and overflow, As happy brooks that break their icy rim When April's horns along the hillsides blow? I may not speak till Eros' torch is dim, The god is bitter and will have it so; And yet to-night our fate would seem less grim If he could know. --- Sara Teasdale

I will be 55 tomorrow. Not a spring chicken I know, but I still need reminding that life's not all a bed of roses ... but neither a constant pain in the neck. And on thinking about this today and this last year of my journey of life, this poem sort of popped out. I dedicate it to my daughters (R and V) who would probably never read it seeing it's posted on CS, and ofcourse to H. a beautiful lady from Brazil. I hope you enjoy this read. 10.09.09 xxx virgosign

:") I loved 'Your knight in shining armour' by Mr. Fellsman so I wrote this one. ^__^ And I always think we should be our (own) knight, we should be strong. ^__^ Cheers! Ref: "Your knight in shining armour" by Fellsman If your aching heart's been broken I can fix it all for free If your dreams have all been shattered Just leave everything to me. If your friend or wayward lover Has abandoned you, my dear I will help you to recover That I promise without fear. If life's left you bruised and battered I will be your soothing balm Taking care of all your problems And I'll see you take no harm. Should ill fortune come your way That dragon I shall slay Or if you're simply feeling low I'll chase your blues away What e'er it is that troubles you I'll send you soothing Karma You may be sure I'll always be Your knight in shining armour.
