NOT a poem...just a question

If you were to pass by a book of my poetry in a book store and read a bit...would it be something you just flipped through or would it be something you actually purchased?
Please be honest...I'm curious as to whether I should write a book of poetry or just leave it as a hobby...all comments welcome please...good or bad =) !!

I apologize to you all poets

It has come to my attention that some of might be mistaking some of things I have posted. Most of my stuff is on the darker side. Perhaps a bit too much for this forum. I'm not a bad person. I would never hurt a fly. Except for one instance, in all of my poems all of the violence and evil are the acts of another.... And not meant to sound sadistic. And in that one instance, it was to grossly exaggerate the way I feel. I like to use lot of "sarcasm", if you will. And often write as if I could understnd what's going on in someone elses mind. I'm not out portray myself as some dark negative human being nor to offend anyone.

I'm sorry if I have.

SINGLES CONNECTED

I MET A GREAT GUY ON LINE
AND HAD THE MOST FABULOUS TIME 'CHATTING' AWAY
TO THIS MAN EVERY DAY
AND FALLING IN LOVE WITH HIS MIND
WE GOT ON SO WELL
IT WAS EASY TO TELL
WE MATCHED! WE WERE TWO OF A KIND

WE TALKED AND WE JOKED 'ON THE SCREEN'
COULD THIS BE THE MAN OF MY DREAMS?
HE CALLED! AND SUGGESTED WE MEET
OH! LORD I WAS GETTING COLD FEET!
BUT HE SOUNDED SO GREAT
I AGREED TO A DATE!

NEXT DAY HE ASKED FOR A DATE
HE SOUNDED SO NICE, I DIDN'T THINK TWICE
SAID ¨YES: I'LL MEET YOU AT EIGHT¨.
AND THOUGHT ¨WOW¨! I CAN'T WAIT!¨
HE SAID ¨DINNER AND WINE¨?
SHALL I BOOK IT FOR NINE¨?
I SAID, ÖH ! YES THAT'S FINE¨

WAS SO NERVOUS I COULDN'T GET DRESSED
TOTALLY WOUND UP AND STRESSED!
¨WHICH DRESS? ¨I CAN'T CHOOSE
AND ¨HEAVENS! WHAT SHOES¨?

COULD THIS REALLY BE MR RIGHT?
THAT I'M MEETING AT EIGHT TONIGHT
SO 'WHY THEN AM I UPTIGHT'
BUT I HAD A GREAT TIME
AND SOON I SIGNED OUT!-OFF LINE.

i FOUND THIS FAB MAN ON THE NET
I KNEW AS SOON AS WE MET
HE WAS FUN, HE WAS KIND
HE 'GOT INTO' MY MIND
IN A WAY THAT I'LL NEVER FORGET!

The Photo

THE PHOTO
THERE WAS A TIME WHEN THE PHOTO DID NOT LIE.
IN THIS AGE OF TECHNOLOGY THIS ITSELF HAS BECOME A LIE.
I LOOK AT MY PHOTO IN THE PC; I DO NOT LOOK LIKE THE STAR I WANT TO BE.
I MUST ALTER MY FACE TO REMOVE THE SCAR.TO MAKE THIS IMAGE LOOK LIKE A STAR
THE WRINKLES ARE MANY, IT LOOKS AS IF MANY PEOPLE HAVE LIVED IN THIS OLD HOUSE.
THIS IS NOT A PROBLEM; I CAN REMOVE ALL WITH THE CLICK OF A MOUSE.
MY HEAD IS BARE BUT WITH ONE CLICK I CAN PUT ON A HAT.
MY BODY IS THIN NO MORE, CLICK I AM NOW FAT.
MY HAIR IS GREY BUT I HAVE MY FRIEND THE MOUSE, IT IS NOW BLACK.
TO SHOW MY BLACK HAIR I CAN REMOVE THE HAT.
I LOOK AT THE PHOTO IN THE PC.I AM NOW THE STAR I WANTED TO BE.
THEN I LOOK TO THE MIRROR ON THE BATHROOM WALL, DISMAY IT IS STILL THE OLD ME.
I PREFER THE IMAGE ON THE PC THIS PERSON I WOULD LIKE TO BE.
MY TEETH ARE STRAIGHT AND WHITE MY HAIR A SHINNING BLACK.
I CAN SEND THIS NEW IMAGE OF ME TO PEOPLE THROUGH MY PC.
NO ONE OUT THERE WILL EVER KNOW IT IS NOT THE TRUE ME.
YOU CAN BE WHAT EVER YOU WISH TO BE WITH A CAMERA AND A PC
MY EYES WERE BLUE BUT NOW ARE GREEN, WELCOME TO THE WORLD OF TECHNOLOGY.

colors of many

today i stand up with so many
with the proud colors behind me
as there was no time to think but the under standing of
who we , they , them are
as i looked up and down i see so many happy.
for what they are standing for.
we , they , them are not any different but so many are afraid
y i dont know but im not one of THEM

A Dreamer

We wonder what a dreamer thinks and how he sees the world around.
Does he perceive a different way is his life so profound?
Can we imagine why he finds that things are such a bore?
Does he simply refuse to accept or does he just want more.
Let's look at history and what it shared the famous people there.
Many of them were dreamers who were gifted but full of fear.
Let's look at artist Vincent Van Gough the torment he did see.
With all the wonders of his art his nightmares did not flee.
Now look at Thomas Edison a dreamer as a boy.
But look at what that dreamer did he gave us so much joy.
What would this world be like if we never had their gift.
No radio, no television, no elevator lift
Praise the educated ones, the powerful and the rich.
But without a dreamer's dream we'd be in a shallow ditch.
