Not sure I would mind. It is good to be independent. And you can still be a good partner, I think none-needy partners have a easier time and puts less stress on the relationship. If independence means selfishness and egoism, then she can independ her way out the door

daytura: more so finacially, i mean some women ive met have said this and it makes me think, if your starving and can't feed your kids, you wont accept help.
daytura: her children, single mums and such, i understand her situation but all in all was just a question i put out there.
Well then being independent is being able to care for ones self/family ..... But having starving kids and not excepting help is a matter of pride ......
So I think its more an issue of pride than independence don't you think?

thanks for all the comments, seems preety even poll, however i dont mean independant as "a woman not controlling her own life", afterall it is the 21st century and that died a long time ago. just to clarify that. also im not refering to or talking about pride.

What an amazingly articulate and intelligent reply
modermen: Yes total turn off,You never hear men saying their independent, it more or less saying they don't need men.
To need a man to be able to have a certain way of life is to use him. Not a healthy reason, but some men like it that way because the women is less likely to leave them if the man acts like a jerk.
To be with a man out of choice, not necessity is a healthy reason. Some men feel threatened by this, because they know if they act like a jerk, there´s no reason for the woman to stay with him.

True but what if as of now that men are now saying we are independent of women, would that be good for women for men to say were independent, I personaly think its stupid for women to say they are independent of men.
I like independent women... They have a lot of common sense and mechanical aptitude... They can deal with any minor difficulty in everyday life, and don't need help opening a can of corn or mowing the grass...when needed. But... Not to the point where she's 'Independant' to the point of expecting to 'Date-Around' while in a committed relationship.

Yes it would be good for women if men felt independent of them. It would mean that if they choose to be with a woman it´s not because he wants his dinner cooked, his house cleaned and someone in their bed at night, but because they truly appreciate the woman as a person.

We obviously have different opinions ...
Fair point ,until theres a child comes into the picture and there is roles to play both genders have to be dependent of each other.

Once the couple have come together because they appreciate one another as people without the slightest hint of "using" the other for anything, that would make them mature enough to work out how they´re gonna approach parenthood as a couple.
Many adults have gone way past parenthood age, but still only see the other gender within a "role" ...
