Although they may be her/his ex there are still feelings involved. I think it would be better to steer clear of this one if you don't want to hurt you friends feelings.

right it depends on what you value most because it will most likely damage the friendship.....a couple of exceptions might be if their break up was AGES ago like many years and your friend has a new guy and really couldn't care less....even then however, the chances of double dating or meeting socially are diminished.
Also if she's not a real close friend or lives a great distance away when I meet the guy, it would not affect my decision to date him
