I did it once, got pretty far and then stuck. Right now I'm selling out again just to get back to where I started off. I wouldn't be surprised if I'll do it all over again in a view years

Rogerzoekt: I've sold everything I had 2 times now and travelled for 1,5 years.
It was the best thing I ever done, but did it on my own.
i want to know how how you people feel about doing a thing like that.
I highly recommend it, travel is awesome, get out there and meet people, experience different cultures, realise that the world is full of interesting people, live a life worth living.

Good on ya. Give me a ring when you're packing in your backpack. :)
lifeisadream: I have nothing to sell but I have traveled some too.How many countries and which ones have you visited? Would you post some pictures of yours?
I mainly did 56.000 km in Australia and Tasmania. Bought a big 4x4 and just got off.
Best feeling in the world to have no more keys, address and other crap. Everything i had and needed was in the back of my Landcruiser.
Ozi and Tazi are safe bets, no political unrest, wars etc. I'd rather do Africa, but am too scared to go through there. :(
Not sale everything but put my carrer on it and some of my saving .... just lucky to back home but then think to do it again .. Travel always as my passion

I did it once, ten years ago and have never looked back. I'm still out there, wandering around the world. But it was what I always wanted, it wasn't something I just thought about doing sometimes. It is not a lifestyle for most people. The people I meet who have done something similar do it for a year or two or three and then go back home and resume their normal life.

Well done, wish I could sell everything, I have too much and no space, perhaps you may help me to sell some, then I would travel more. I have been to most places, but not Australia or New Zealand, on my bucket list though as I will be 70 in 3 weeks, so time is running out fast. Good luck!xx
Ccincy: The way some of the world is today I'd be scared to do it.
There isn't anything to be afraid of. In fact, based on what I read and hear about the US these days, it's such a scary place, I wouldn't want to be there.

I've been looking out for you then.
I soooooo miss it.
The last three years I've rebuilt a barn in France and now live in it. Gathering a whole lot of stuff again, wondering why I need all that. Have come to a point that I might sell it all again and take the Landrover and go...

Genuine experience of foreign cultures - not tourism - makes you appreciate the familiar like never before. Travelling the world with eyes open made me realise just how precious England and home is.
I already got just the basic to live, in the modern world let's say, so if I eventually decide to sell out everything ... that will be money enough for 1 week lol... I dont even have a car... but a lovely bike hehe. My kid likes it like this as well, we're free spirits :D
I don't think its necessary to store stuff and more stuff and getting more and more... so it would make it easier when I decide to start all over somewhere over the rainbow...besides travelling gives u all sort of amazing experiences that I hope to start living from now
I'm going to see Europe in a couple of weeks so Im all excited!!!
I wonder if anyone with kids here has sold out their stuff and gone tripping around??

Rumple4skin: You have to love the isle, no matter the state of the people.
Ok each to his own. I live mainly in Cyprus now, also an Isle (nicknamed the island of love, home of Aphrodite) land of sunshine. Err I'll stick with it and visit UK for holidays
