SoonerGal: I would love to visit Israel and especially the wailing wall...seriously...
A well known Irish author, Maeve Binchy, actually lost her faith when she saw the cave where the last supper supposedly took place.
On one of her days off, she decided to go to Jerusalem to see the Upper Room, where the Last Supper had taken place. What she found, she said, was a cave and a gun-toting Israeli soldier with a Brooklyn accent who, when she exclaimed that this couldn’t possibly be the site of the Last Supper, said: “What were you expecting, lady, a Renaissance table set for 13?” Immediately, white was black and black was white. Everything she had been taught with such certainty, everything she had taken on board with such trust and faith since she was a tiny child, meant nothing. It all went, and never came back. “One minute I believed the lot, angels with wings and a special Irish God, and the next I didn’t believe a word of it.”
Last night I went to visit my family that a few of them recently went on holiday to Greece, those greek lovely royal olives ! Love them and not only.. My beloved Greece, miss the country a lot although it was a big diffrence when I was younger, beautifull and free then.

why? I guess I'm missing the point, because it didn't fit into what she imagined it was? or because there was a soldier? I don't see how this is relevant to anything for me Glatiol...I don't expect things to be as my mind envisions them....she wasn't deep into herself then

I just think it is an interesting fact and thought of it when you mentioned wanting to go to Israel, thats all.
It was a "veil falling from the eyes" moment for her, having been a devote Catholic all her life she realised it was all a lie.

Everything is commercialised for the faithful. Selling wooden crosses, supposedly from the cross, where Jesus left his last breath.- So many of them over decades and centuries, estimated half the forests of Europe used ,to make those little wooden crosses.

oh ok...I see now why you did...well, all I can say is her faith wasn't very deep rooted, like I said I don't go to church or fall onto a certain religion

that's true I don't...however, not with just this story but anything I don't care what devotion to a marriage, job and so on, if you can just stop doing whatever it was you were doing just because of something so trivial then you really never had to begin with...

RayfromUSA: Because Israel is an apartheid state with a policy of ethnic cleansing.
It has been a financial parasite of the US since the day of its creation.
It has poisoned US relations with formerly friendly Arab states.
In a false flag attack, Israel deliberately tried to sink an unarmed US ship killing scores of men in an attempt to draw the US into a war against Egypt.
Israel has massacred tens of thousands of innocent Palestinians.
Israeli spies stole US nuclear secrets.
Israel has weapons of mass destruction and uses them regularly.
Israel has nuclear weapons aimed at European cities.
Is that enough ?????
Now try justifying why the US should fight for Israel.
Who is this Kool Aid drinking fool? He should learn his history about the muslims. Try being a christian or any other religion in any Muslim country. That is a quick way to get a haircut down to ur neck.

I think it was a "penny dropping" moment for her, have seen her interviewed many times and she "just knew" that what she had devotedly believed all her life was a lie.
I have never had a moment like that, my realisation came much slower but with just as much certainty.
chris27292729: Nearly 30 countries i liked them all.-
inever counted it, but i think between 30and 50countries i have visited, if i would be a school minister i would send the kids around the world, just for getting experienced
