Of course I would, and I'd expect to get the reply 'oh I know, he/she told me he/she used the site in the past to find someone'.
People who cheat and lie are ill news. I don't want dealings with cheaters and liars, and neither would I want anyone to have dealings with them, so I'd make sure the truth is told, hoping my friend would know it already and that is out in the open and as it should be ^^

It depends on how close I was to this friend.
If by friend you mean someone from real life that you chat to and confide in on a regular basis then I guess any normal person would tell them.
If it was a friend, as in someone from the site that you don't really know other than having a laugh on the forums and the odd email, then no I don't think they would need to be told.
It also depends on what the person is like that is dating the friend and on the site..... but that is a whole other debate! and I don't want to bore you all

I know there is this whole social thing going on, with people saying always just mind your own business, but that culture has also led to people looking away when strangers get abused in the public. I go more by what I would lik someone to do in regards to me, and I'd wish to be told. No one wishes to run into open knifes, and liars and cheaters are like open knifes, they can cut into others and cause great wounds.

once it is out there it cannot be taken back nor ignored
sometimes I feel people tell the truth for their own means, it is almost a smugness....they know it will hurt you and almost enjoy telling you
I am very careful when asked to tell the truth.....and a lot of the time, rather than lie, I chose not to say anything
a wise friend of mine calls it "if you name it you claim it"

tinyfangs: I agree and I don't agree. I personally don't like to hurt others, and I will handle a truth carefully that I believe could hurt, but lies build rotten foundations. I don't like the lying and conveniece culture of today, I find it hard to deal with. If people would not lie so much, I think we'd have a better world, and one could claim in a case like we are discussing here - that one maybe secreltly could enjoy to see someone run into an open knife. I think there are people who do, same as they like to watch vids of people's mishaps. I don't like to see that, and a truth mat can hurt, but lies on the ling run tend to always hurt more, fro what I have observed...
it really does depend and this is how I see it for me personally
if I want the truth about something I ask someone I know that will give it me. I am a "prefer to know" sort of person if it is about myself
if a close friend/family (ie someone I love and care about) wants the truth from me, I would weigh up how much it might hurt them and what the repercussions might be before I blast them with the truth
does that make sense?
