Mariannette: I was wondering just how much money people spend on others at Christmas? If people do Chriskindle or buy for everyone?
Do you put a value on the present accordingly to how much it cost to buy?
I find the best thing to do is on christmass day tell everyone you forgot the presents in the car when it broke down and it is now in the garage until after st Stephens day, that way all it takes is to nip into the shops for the sales, works out way cheaper.
Just bought the one and only present my son is getting this year. Its first year he's actually asked for something and although its more than i normally spend, its going to work out well for the future....will buy games/controllers etc for bdays etc. Went in shop when empty(passed it few times yesterday and it was packed) and toldthem i knew nothing about anything and had never played a games console in my life.....think i must have amused them cos i got a brand new game only out thrown in along with the rest of the package. Woohoo

you could buy them second hand on line or at Game Stop! even trade in a few old ones for a newer one!
I get for my mother, father, son, sister and very small things for my 10 nieces and nephews (sweets tubes in Aldi for 1.49) I'm making ceramic decorations in the school which we are selling to fundraise but will make some for my friends and my sons fathers side of the family as gifts. Simples!

Not much. The kids gets money, we buy something for mum between us and only small tokens for each other.
I do see a good bit of my family in the last year, but I'm not able to spend a huge amount of time with them, so I'm just looking forward to spending time with all of them and catch up with some old friends.
Glatlol: I have done all my present shopping, spent approx. 2500.Spend about 500/600 on each of my children, I have 3, it used to be a lot more but am not earning what I used to.
Have never borrowed a cent for Christmas, always save what I need.
Do what my neighbour does - she avoids everyone like the plague before Christmas, then hits the sales on 2 January, buys her "xmas presents" then, lol.
