I'd much rather it snow on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day and then disappear completely. But according to all the weather predictions we may not get any more snow which is fine by me.
A lot of our snow is slowly melting and then in the evening it freezes.
Looking out from a warm room, to a garden covered in snow can be a really beautiful sight, but when you have to walk or drive in the stuff, it has an evil side.
I would rather just see snow on pretty Christmas cards

We don't need pretty Christmas cards here as we have the scenery outside our windows!
The toughest part is always, when you must drive on icy and snowy roads. Hopefully they have clean the roads now.
Merriweather: sorry for you.. but I guess, being I haven't been near snow, I don't know apart from it looks just lovely..
We have shocking weather here at the moment...
hot with wind gusts of 40+ km... so a lot of the trees have lost their limbs this arvo...
I think snow and cold is better than heat, like +40. When it's cold you can always dress and put extra clothing on, but with heat you can't run anywhere! I keep my fingers crossed you'll be saved from the bush fires.

Thank you ABCwoman.. that is nice
I hope so too...
Re the heat... its OK.. we have air conditioning in the offices, and also here at home.. and fans and all those things that help.. but yes.. I do agree with you... you can always move about to keep warm when its cold.. but when its hot.. apart from sitting in the bath, and wasting the day... its not that productive..

abcWOMAN: You do get snow where you live, right?
As I recall, we had the winter Olympic from Sarajevo once.
Oh yeah, we have snow ,last couple of winters have been ,at times, up to 30-50cm of snow (In my region)...European style streets ,with piled snow on both sides of the road ...traffic jams, snow shoveling ...keeping the house warm... its a delight ,who wouldn`t love winter ...
abcWOMAN: I hope I converted it right. You see, I'm just one of many millions thinking in metric and it works pretty good here!
I wonder if our wild animals like the snow?
you were very specific with your conversion..... 4" and 6" approx. Metric does make better sense but I still need to multitask with imperial due to my work.
Some animals are adapted for it, some migrate and the get the flock out of there ......
abcWOMAN: I've just finished 1,5 hours of snow shovelling, 10 to 15 cm of snow. This time of the year, a palm beach would feel like heaven!
If i have the choice between icy cold rain and snow, i definetly choose the second option... It's nearly christmas and it did not yet drop a single snowflake, instead it rains endlessly that is so depressing.

HotrodLarrys: Yes you did do the conversion right, as I saw your later post..
as we would call it here, you got from 4- 6 Inches of snow
But With Wind, Cars, Drifts, that can pile up fairly deep in Spots...
And No, I do not like snow very often, and especially Not Great amounts...
We are calling for Freezing rain tonight, then By Saturday some snow...
I would like snow much better, If it were Not so cold outside, and Not having to Shovel it!
I think I like really cold weather better; it doesn't usually snow, when it's real cold.
The weekend before Christmas is going to sad as usual. Many people get killed in car accidents on their way to celebrate Christmas! People are in a hurry and stressing in the traffic and the weather is not going to favour them. Sad but true!

Southern Sweden has gotten mild weather from the Europe, perhaps the same weather as you have now. In northern part we have quite nice too, but snowing right now. We usually have colder this time of the year.

Mild weather here in S. Finland, usually snow at this time of year, but it is 6degs C at the moment. Because I have said that we will probably have hard weather next week
It is the winter solstice this weekend. do you have any daylight??????

It's the same in Stockholm as in S Finland. When you have plus degrees, we'll get all the snow up in north! When it's cold here, you'll get all the snow!
