Quykiwi: Can we love him/ her though we just know him on the internet and haven't met him in our daily life? Can love happen?
No, I don't believe it can. Attraction yes, real love? No...that develops while spending time with someone and getting to know them, their smell, their mannerisms, their touch. JMO
It is possible to build a connection with someone through exchange of emails and video chats and it is possible to start caring even before you meet that person but in order to develop a lasting love and relationship you will need to eventually meet and "seal the deal".

It happened to me two years ago here. I fell in love with him, long before he knew I existed, then on the poem section, I was writing and he did, too and before we knew it, we were both so passionately in love. We met after a month of writing and skyping and so many trips later (13 hours flight) and still love him very much. Although love left him, I stayed on this feeling as I can't seem to let go and move on. But I am happy just the same loving him still.
thanks for this question..by the way just on the poetry corner alone, there's about 10 couples now who are happily married and still in love.

Who is to say what another feels is real or not? Valid or not? Justified or not? Whatever you feel is real for you even if you later rationalise it away with arguments as to the impossibility of it being realised or sustainable.
If we can feel anger, dislike and sometimes even hatred for someone we interact with only on the internet, why is the opposite emotion deemed not possible?

Anger, dislike, and hate are easy for most people.

A very individual experience,,for those in any ldr and those who have met and gone on to live the dream, then i salute you and wish you all the luck in the world..The poll is titled "can we feel we are in love with people we havent met"..im confident we can feel that we are,but to really be in love i believe we need to meet for real and spend lots of time together...J.M.O ..
Glatlol: Your poll title and the opening post are conflicting.
I voted yes because your title asked if people "feel" they are in love with someone they havent met.
People seem to feel it alright but I dont believe it is possible.
It IS possible G. I am proof. I met him on here. It took awhile before I KNEW I was in love with him but when I knew it, I was hooked and that was before I met him.
My feelings were confirmed when I did meet him 8 months after we started talking.
Another poster said you need to spend a lot of time together before you fall in love. Spending all that time together gives you the opportunity to learn your lovers faults, not to fall in love more.
It's my opinion that there is no degree to being in love. You either are in love or you aren't.

I think you speak words of wisdom here. So many fall in love then look for reasons as to why it's not love, or why they shouldn't love. I hope if and when I fall in love I'm never able to pinpoint the exact reasons I love him, but simply embrace the fact that I do.
