Hi Laralou, I live the life I want and if I don't like something that I can change myself, I will get around to change it.
Life is too short to mope around and have lots of "what ifs"...
I do realise that things can happen someone has no influence over, however, I am the one in the driving seat of my life and there is only one direction to go! (Although I wouldn't object to winning the Euro millions).

I didnot take some great opportunites to go to the States etc., when I was 30. Was left to look after my Grandma [who reared me]. Guilt. She had a wonderful life, I wanted to live mine. Anyway, now its financial fear,I really want to leave Dubin but like NNenagh says, am full of 'what if' I have a huge desire to go and live in Wexford, I love it.

Just a quickie [Im really trying to keep posts short, please be patient] regarding public speaking and nerves. I had to do alot at one time. It sounds weird but works.... keep your fingers apart. It effects some part of the brain. Before speaking breathe in thru nose, hold for four seconds, breathe out slowly through mouth for four. I promise it helps. I blush !!

Hi Golden, I am lucky to have no ties to someone that holds me back and a hugely supportive family.
I do realise it's not the same for everyone, I just would hate to have a lot of "what if's" and can honestly say I don't (yet).

You should not regret it too much as instead you did a very noble thing looking after a loved one who had reared and loved you....

Thanks ! Yes,I don't have a supportive family network now and am very much alone.. still that's no reason not to chase a dream.I think it's hard to leave that little bit of Security too. To leave a network of friends. Either way, it takes guts and you hear of people in their 60s and 70s going abroad to live and not always financially well off.
my grandmother moved to wexford when my grandad passed...she has made new friends, i get the feeling that is someone you wont have any trouble doing anyway,
what about renting out your house for a year, and renting a house down in wex for a year..and see how it works.

Fifi I rent [lost my home in 80s recession] so I have thought of subletting and trying Wexford. I think people are v friendly there. It's like Dublin was 15years ago. Anyway it still takes guts to do it and no procrastinating, and yes, I do make friends easily. Thanks
Laralou: Hi all! Haven't been on here in a long time but still recognise some familiar lurkers faces! ;-) Doing a course at the moment where I have to research/study modern-day fears/stressors leading to procrastination and/or self-sabotage. These fears may be self-imposed or inflicted upon us by society, family, friends ,peers etc... I would be grateful if you would choose which of the ten options you feel has had the most bearing on your life; preventing you from living the life you would like to create for yourself. Feel free to leave comments below, or PM me if you would like to expand on your choice in private. I promise that nothing shared in confidence will be made public here or elsewhere. Many thanks in advance...

The only thing that prevents me is me, oh and the restraining order
Thanks so much for all your comments & PMs. I really appreciate it & it was great to catch up with some CS pals. Not hanging around though. Be nice to each other CS users. We have but one life. Arrivederci!
Money, simple as.... Id happily do a few days a week voluntary, doing what i feel works for me (thats not greed but practical)...and as much time as i like doing study (music theory) and recording.... I dont relish just doing a 'mc job' for the rest of my life, so i keep it cheap and manage on the bare minimum....Piles of cash would liberate me and just improve my already good life....

Jaysus AB that sounds like the Co. Clare version of my life staying in tonight so I can go out and enjoy the match tomorrow
I said the lottery in my answer to the thread a few pages back , weird thing is that I actually won last week

I said the lottery in my answer to the thread a few pages back , weird thing is that I actually won last week €7 on two scratch cards that were bought for me
The lottery is a tax on the hopes and dreams of the poor, I did it for a year and got nothing, it didn't take me too long to cop on....Yeah, money cant but you 'REAL' love, but it can buy everything else.......
