tipaly81: I own a PC, but have had the oportunity to use a Mac on campus every now and then. They are awsome. Every time a PC "lost" one of my papers, or other random crud, I would turn to the Mac and find it right away.

The only reason I haven't turned to a Mac is because I am a gamer and heard that a lot of games don't work for Macs, but I coudl be wrong/misinformed.

Good poll!

You are right MS Windows is a default OS for PCs, about 70-75% around the world, Linuxes are after it, and only then Macs

jetdevil2001: It's true Linuxes are a bit comples in configuring system preferences, but even most MS Windows users do not know how to optimize their system and keep doin' "on default"

Ah the wonderful Linux, To go by my original analogy of computers being like cars,,

PC are like Fords, plain, dull, cheap parts cause you always need them, but gets you from A to B, sometimes!!

Mac are like BMW, stlye, comfort, loads of extra features, expensive to repair Get you from A to B but faster and less chance of breaking down on the way.

Linux is Like the kit car, uses parts readily available, its freelaugh and when put together by someone who really knows what he's doing it will get you from A to B and out perform all the others,

My other computer is Linux laugh laugh laugh

Linux is like a tuned up sport car from your own garage, and if the driver is moding lover, then this car can turn into a jet, that is able to bomb away anything on its way

TheresMyFriend: Which do you find to be the better system, and why? I operate both, but after many years of building/repairing computers for a living...I find the Mac to be more reliable.

Example being...I used to see people bring in their PC's week after week...many the same system, with problems being viruses. Be warned...there is NO virus program 100%!! In the last 7+ years that I have run the Mac...I have YET to install an anti-virus program(and I have been on sites that are know to have virus embedded mainly on Warez sites).

So which do you prefer?

can't vote for this poll! sigh

the thing is that I use both a PC and a Mac, and on my Pc I've got triple boot config, made up of Win XP, Vista and Linux. my favourite OSes are Ubuntu (Linux) and Apple Mac OS X, which run on a PC and a Mac respectively.

great poll though! thumbs up

jetdevil2001: I think we shoud have problems with our computers, as by those problems solvation we learn something new, become power user in some way, in comparison with those, who even does not know how connect up a new hard drive)

True, but like everything else there are going to be those of us whom like to do this and others whom never will do this and would rather have us to do it for themcheers cheers

jetdevil2001: Yeah, seems it's in our nature. Some prefer a quite life tryig to be off preblems and some seek adventures and try or pretend to be alternative and taste smth new, even if come to grief as it was with me, when first tryed to install a Russian Linux and had my hard formated((( That time I lost a good deal of data, even my degree work...

PC. But I love the iPhone that I have had for over a year. Go figure. I can't tell you how many times I've been asked "Your phone actually works with your PC?" confused

I'm a PC...lol

When I first started working in the schools they had Mac's, but transitioned to PC's. I was given my choice twice & chose PC over Mac.
