minnieme2: @raphael: I had to google that breed! never heard of it. Lovely dog.
@ccincy: love shi tzus! cute and fluffy
Ive seen some awesome ones. They need huge amounts of exercise and go nuts without it. Lots of work, but great in the country if carefully socialized, if not socialized they are dangerous

Trichoptera: Tosa Inu (Japanese mastiff) Cane Corso (Italian mastiff)
Jack Palance owned a champion Tosa once, a gift. Said it went out on his 1000 acre range ever day looking for a fight. One day his herd of cows got fed up and stampeded him. He never went near them again.
minnieme2: We owe a lot to dogs. They've been good to us and they're adorable from puppies to adulthood. If you didn't have a dog and had to choose one of the above from a pound which one would you choose and why? It can be a tough choice. I'd be torn between the St. Bernard and the Shi Tzu and the Spaniel.
I like mixed breeds and rescue dogs (dogs from the pound) I find most are really good dogs. And the ones I have had have been excellent.
My dog, Petey, a Presa Canario/American Staffordshire Terrier/German Pointer cross. He's a handsome little fella, and somewhat obedient too.
My least favorite is the ones they serve at the Chinese restaraunts downtown, they're the toughest, chewiest, and most ill flavoured of all. Cat is much better if you're going to serve either on a plate.

Probably a lot more then some humans do.
