bloodysue: Personally, as a Maltese person, I was extremely happy that Obama was elected. To me it represented a positive change, not just in America but all over the world. And it seems as if it's positive so far :)
But like I read on some other forum / poll....change takes time...for god's sake give the man a chance!
Second chances have been thrown out the window in the '90's. Now first chances are going out the door too.

If Obama and Co. fix this economy in 4 years, it will be a miracle but do you think the Reps will see it that way? In their eyes, it's already Obama's fault...While we really know what happened... And no, 50 trillion dolloars DIDN'T just go <<<POOFF!>>>
I think I'm just going to sit back and watch the country go down the tubes. I am going to spend my free time reloading ammo and shooting paper at the range. I might do a little more shopping for some camping gears so I can live in the wilderness while the country tears itself apart.
rocketqueen: as for what obama has done so far...well within the first 24 hours he promised to close gitmo, hes already pledged to tackle the obesity problem, hes approved stem-cell research to find cures for all sorts of disease and disability, and he will withdraw troops in iraq soon enough (when the country is more stable, which is starting to happen now), and he has wrote off on the stimulus package, to save america from becoming an economic bag-case...i'm sure he has probably done more, but this is all i can think of at the mo....

Yes, it would be a miracle. The Reps would then start calling him the Anti-Christ and start another right wing conspiracy
zee1ander: So you are saying that it is now Obamas economy? From this point on that all gains and failures are his? Or are you giving him an 8 year pass?
zee
Whether I do or not isn't going to change a thing.
But then again, Bush got an eight-year pass, why not give it to Obama too?
Matter of fact, why hold any politician accountable? The last eight years showed us how constructive that was

Bush did have an 8 year pass, because the Democratic Congress was out to help him fail as they will do to Obama. Congress has as much say, but collects little blame.

They're already calling him a Terrorist and so on... That wouldn't be a big leap. They called Saddam the Anti-Christ yet he's dead... I guess the epitaph fits just about anyone who happens to disagree with them

hmmmm, he didn't have a democratic congress the whole 8 years

You are right... Huh, how exactly are you gonna get your food "in the hills" when they take away your gun?

Ain't gonna happen now
