I'm interested to know the state of the debate here on CS. I would start a thread but I'm sure it's been done to death. The poll probably has been to but I missed it so if you will...... If you think it warrants a new thread, feel free to start it but please notify me !!

I find the whole notion of a creator far fetched and unrealistic. I do, however, think that people have the right to their own beliefs. I have not baptised my children as I do not feel it is my place to tell them which religion if any they choose to follow.
Lok_Simpson: where is option 3? little green men and their experiments?
That actually comes under the heading of Creationism. ie, life on Earth was created by aliens. Begs the question, did the aliens evolve or were they created.

Good luck to your children. If they choose the wrong god they'll be suffering the consequences in the eternal hereafter ! I hope the follow your example.

Okay, so if we are here from a big bang....how did the big bang occur? Face it- there is God. He created this absolutely beautiful planet, and us as well. Things do evolve- a simple example of that is infections, which evolve and become more difficult to treat. However- in the beginning, God created the earth- and the galaxy for that sake.

that's your opinion.. its not a fact .. sorry.. but I don't agree .. but your entitled to believe whatever you want to believe
Actually, I believe it was. As I mentioned things do evolve- we continue to see that. However, the process of evolution is a natural process that things have to respond to the environment...and changes within it. I think that sometimes people think that people who believe in creation do not believe in evolution. That's not necessarily the case. Though we believe and acknwledge that things do evolve, I anyway believe that God created life in that way.... It's prety amazing actually!
wayne1791971: I am with Lok on this one litle green men and experiment
cheers... but remember... WE ARE WATCHING YOU
I kinda hate religious conversations/debates/arguements , there is too many unanswered questions , like chicken or egg which came forst? , or the age old question..... if god created us , who created god ( he always was apparently ).
I pose the question , if it is proved beyond a shadow of a doubt that religion is a farce , and holds no merit , what happens to all the religious people? do they keep their faith? do they continue on , or do they accept it , and chance their ways/lifestyle?
maybe i opened a can of worms here , so dont answer sensibly.. have some fun with it

kawai: Isn't that the other way around? The more intelligent we get the less we believe in the old man with the beard in the clouds?
No ! The more information we have the less we believe in the old man in the clouds. Monkeys didn't ponder their existence until they smartened up a bit.

Isn't that what I just said? Maybe I misunderstood you in the first place, but the way I see it, the more intelligent we get, the less we believe in religion.

creating the planet in 7 days, a 24 hour day, i dont think so, galaxy days are thousands of years, solar system days even longer. we have dino's bones and the fish walking, so thats evolution, we have the caveman evolving, but there is a gap between caveman and modern man, unexplained, or is god the explanation. our dna is changed between caveman and modern man, how or what or who did that, the green men?, are they god? did god create the big bang? did god step in and do the dna change, and now we have man. Creation and Evolution.
