i really never understood the attraction to the " dumb blonde" type. events of the past years have given me a little more understanding. but i still just couldn't see it. i need to be able to have a conversation with them. (not that i'm a brainiac, just someone slightly below, the same as, or above me.) smart is relative. you can be a doctor, but not be able to figure out how to follow instructions to put together a simple piece of office furniture. so i guess it would have to go into what kind of smart.

before anyone takes offense, i did use quotation marks, as in quotte, unquote , dumb blonde. and trust me, i have some pretty dumb moments, so i wasn't looking to insult anyone.

i know really wasn't taking offense just saying blondes get a bad rap sometimes but we can be smart sometimes
I would probably prefer an intelligent and wise partner instead of a SMART and GOODLOOKING one. Then again, are we wise and intelligent enough to differentiate between smartness and intelligence/wisdom?
thewall2: Look,I'm really counting on her intelligence. lol
i think women value smartness more than intelligence. then again, i could be wrong. After all, i am a man with very limited "wisdom" with no smartness.
All kidding aside,I think physically there has to be some type of attraction, but she doesn't have to be the smartest woman in the world. She has to be true to herself, and have that sparkle in her eye. You know what I MEAN.

Great words spoken !
Intelligence is typically nothing but problems in a woman
Karma3: Smart....as in book smart or street smart????
i guess,i should clarify a little more about smartness and intelligence/wisdom. smartness generally tend make people "arrogant" while intelligence/wisdom help people become "humble" more often than not. Arrogance is certainly a bad thing on a man but it is even worse in a woman.
No, wouldn't date someone without a brain. I'd want a good combination of academic and street knowledge. ... basically I'm not asking for more than what I bring to the table. It's not a matter of either academic OR street smarts - it has to be both.
I've met people who are so academic, they bore the crap out of you and others who were good at their trade, but so ignorant of everything else, that you just want to .
Looks... well, yes, they matter, but since I'm not a hot totty anymore, I'd make some concessions. I think many men are more concerned about women's looks and intelligence is a secondary concern or not even wanted. With women, it seems to be the other way around.

Not 4 me, I need that intelectual values too, I was with a woman who was a lil slo tho she was really a sweet person, it lacked something with intelegence, it wasnt my perfect match
No ,i would not do this,of course i had a date with a guy not smart but in net seemed smart maybe somebody wrote for him but in reality when we met to a coffee ,it was like a monolougue i was talking and he just listened me and looked in my eyes ,when I told him tell me and talk he said u talk I just listen at u ,was not funny, although he looked good is not enough
There are many different types of "smart"...just as there are many different types of "goodlooking"...
...but I've never seen a man turn down the chance of dating a barbie babe because she wasn't too clever or quick-witted. Never, no matter what the poll results say...
