But Mike...it's a big place....surely you can't generalize??....but I do know that Spain's unemployment is pretty bad, and it has experienced the worst real estate crisis in the EU area...

No, it is not a bad place, and I am not suffering here, if I did I would not stay here.
There are issues in this big country, but very few reach down here in the south, except for the unemployment, which have reached 24%. But take that into the right perspective - it used to be 20% ...
People are simply not living the way we are used to, and fewer work outside the private land but all survive, in good health.

You should come to Scotland for the summer....the climate is superb and the plonk is dirt cheap....
