lookin4ubabe: Yes it was Walter Reed Veteran hospital and the conditions were absolutely deplorable!!!
When Obama was a senetor in 2007 he introduced legislation with Kerry and McCaskill To Improve Conditions At Walter Reed Hospital the legislation included * Simplify the paperwork process for recovering soldiers;* Improve the ratio of caseworkers to recovering soldiers;* Increase the training of caseworkers; * Require more frequent IG inspections of hospital facilities and standards of care;* Establish timelines and benchmarks for repairs to substandard facilities;* Provide recovering soldiers with psychological counseling; and * Require regular reporting to Congress on: the total number of recovering soldiers at military hospitals; the number of caseworkers; the average waiting time for treatment; and the number of suicide attempts, accidental deaths or drug overdoses.

And i am pretty sure that Kerry and McCaskill were not our compassionate republicans.
Michael211_2000: That was it! Thanks for jogging the memory with that info!
I don't know why it's so hard to fix things like that.

You're welcome! I wonder what the conditions are like today? Because to be honest, I am not sure if that Bill passed, I'm sure it did because it would just be crazy if it didn't! Hmmm...I will have to research that one!
desmond: Just a question because I don't know how it works .Does the arm forces have a goverment run health care or not and if yes does it work thanks for the help in advance
TriCare............ It CANNOT BE beat.. To bad I was not smart enough to stay in the extra years and had it now days..
I may be 2 fries short of a Happy Meal, but even I know ObamaCare is NOT the answer..
mnowsa: Fair enough..my question is did you people ask your favorite republican administration to make it better? If you did ask, then why republican administration didn't act on it to make it better. And if you didn't ask, what was the reason?
Well, you see, in the military, we have this thing called a "Chain of command." So if I wanted my "republican administration" to "change" the military health care, I'd first have to ask my Division officer, then my Department head, then my Executive officer, Commanding officer, Wing commander, Base Commanding officer, Commander Naval Air Forces Pacific Fleet, Commander Naval Air Forces, Chief of Naval Personnel, Chief of Naval Operations, Secretary of the Navy, Then finally, the Commander in Chief. Then a bill would have to be drafted, then the House of Rep. would have to vote on it, then the Senate, then The President would have to sign off on it.
This could take the better part of forever to get done.

I absolutely categorically reject the excuses mentioned about in the name of chain of command although they are valid only within the millitary set up. one could certainly tell his/her family members or friends to take up the issues to his/her respective constituency...or he/she could at least write in the newspapers. My point is if somebody is really serious and compassionate about solving a serious problem, chain of command or the rules of engagement can't really stop them. Besides, one gives excuses only when he/she is not serious about solving a problem. the current ranting and outrage over the health care issue is not about solving this monsterous problem; rather it is about scoring about some stinky political scores by a certain political party..a political party which is infested with hatred and anger of its opponents.

First of all, I never said I wanted to change military health care. Someone was asking me about it. And don't act like you know what you're talking about when it comes to Chain of Command.
Second of all, have you noticed how no one ever talked about health care problems until Obama became president? This has everything to do with politics; nothing to do with a government caring for it's people. This is just another ploy to get more Americans dependent on the federal government. 95% of Americans have health insurance. Can you even tell me what group of Americans don't have it?? The poor have medicaid. The elderly have Medicare, and working fools have PRIVATE health insurance.
I agree that we need some sort of Reform, but a "Public Option" only kills the Private insurance industry and makes people more dependent on big government.
Guess what I'm trying to say is ........it's really not an Obama health care issue - as much as it's everyone's responsibility to question what everything costs from your providers .

Well, I like to question what everything costs from my Government!

OMG! What world are you living in?? Seriously, health care reform has been discussed for years and years and your statistics of 95% is sooooo false! No wonder your not making any sense...you need to research your facts!! And adding a public option will create a competitive market and eliminate the monopoly that now exists...are you for real? No, come, your messing with us right?
