I come across articles at times that talk about the potential for people to live and work on space stations, even maybe the moon once they finish plans to build the biosphere and put a colony there. I have even seen plans a determined group is making to live on Mars. However, I am not seeing a list of names of willing people to go to these places and just live there for any period of time, even work there, but I am sure the pay is extremely good, but you have no where to spend it till you get back to earth.
I thought about it and I guess it wouldn't be too bad. After all, what else can I do for an adventure that beats living in space, on the moon or on mars for a while and see something new. I guess I would have to forget ordering from Ebay or shopping at wallyworld for my daily wants and or needs, but I think it would be interesting and fun to say the least.
I remember 15 years ago people were already talking about living in space, going to mars, living on the moon or traveling through space to find other water like worlds like earth. The year 2000 had so much expectation and yet nothing happened that was different from 15 years ago. We drove the same gas guzzlers, we ate the same old foods, we even dressed the same and the future aspects never came close to being what it was supposed to be like in the year 2000. Here is is 2009, but a step closer to doing something in a real fashion that may take a few more people to some place out of this world, but that is only a few, but what about if things just boomed and Space turned out to be a full blown industry of either entertainment or adventure overnight and maybe in the next 10 years we may see a colony on the moon. NASA is working on the moon project right now and has been for a few years, but another crew has been working on a mars mission, so maybe we will see something happen to take us one step closer to what the future was supposed to be like 9 years ago.
What about you? Would you ever want to go into space, to the moon or even mars in the future if you had the chance? Either for entertainment or for work?
I think that if there wern't such worldly greed, mankind would already be colonizing other planets. Clinging to fossil fuel and the profits of it has seriously hindered better, cleaner and more productive alternative energies. There are many brilliant minds in this world that, working together, could make colonizing another planet a reality. But there's not much profit in it. Although I am almost certain that if any planet in our solar system contained an over-abundant source of energy, greed would try very hard to consume it for profit.
However, if there were a ship set to launch for exploration of space and in search of a colonizable planet, I'd love to be on it.
I would, as long as I had the proper gear to do so. Without that one wouldn't live very long in space now would they?
Just the idea, the Earth maybe our home of birth, but moving beyond to see what may be out there is something that fills my head with wonderful thoughts. Even if it's just being so far from home. Knowing where I came from and seeing her shine in the black.

I would, however weightlessness would be a critical issue,if it is to be IN space on a space station.Unless of course they can create an artificial gravity environment. The moon has some gravity but is otherwise barren with a good view of the earth. On a planetary body like Mars it would be better if not confining due to the atmosphere. Now on an as yet undiscovered world populated by humanoid females where all the males died from some rare virus that I would be naturally immune to..Yes,I would allow them to use me to repopulate their needy planet. Seriously,I wouldn't hold my breath to see this advancement in space.By past predictions we should have already been colonizing the outer planets by now for God's sake! The international space station...an evolving piece of junk.Hardly 2001 A Space Odyssey!.The ESA,China and Russia are the ones to watch for manned planetary missions in the future.Nasa is just lumbering around playing with their toys. They lost their edge as well as the spirit of exploration.I predict you'll be seeing space tourists through Russia more and more and then China next.
