About Dr. Ian Stevenson Omni Magazine's Interview with Dr. Ian Stevenson Sweet Swarnlata: An Example Case of Dr. Ian Stevenson's Probably the best known, if not most respected, collection of scientific data that appears to provide scientific proof that reincarnation is real, is the life's work of Dr. Ian Stevenson. Instead of relying on hypnosis to verify that an individual has had a previous life, he instead chose to collect thousands of cases of children who spontaneously (without hypnosis) remember a past life. Dr. Ian Stevenson uses this approach because spontaneous past life memories in a child can be investigated using strict scientific protocols. Hypnosis, while useful in researching into past lives, is less reliable from a purely scientific perspective. In order to collect his data, Dr. Stevenson methodically documents the child's statements of a previous life. Then he identifies the deceased person the child remembers being, and verifies the facts of the deceased person's life that match the child's memory. He even matches birthmarks and birth defects to wounds and scars on the deceased, verified by medical records. His strict methods systematically rule out all possible "normal" explanations for the child’s memories.
Dr. Stevenson has devoted the last forty years to the scientific documentation of past life memories of children from all over the world. He has over 3000 cases in his files. Many people, including skeptics and scholars, agree that these cases offer the best evidence yet for reincarnation.
Dr. Stevenson's credentials are impeccable. He is a medical doctor and had many scholarly papers to his credit before he began paranormal research. He is the former head of the Department of Psychiatry at the University of Virginia, and now is Director of the Division of Personality Studies at the University of Virginia.

I recently met someone like that, and he said the same thing too, a friend suggests that such experiences are from souls crossing path in previous lives but who knows
I too have meet some one just like that..and it's amazing how we think exactly alike.
I have also meet someone for the first time in my life and had a strange hostility toward them. Upon very deep reflection..I realized that it had nothing to do with who they were..but some conflict at the soul level that must have been their previously..there is no other explanation!!!
I have read books on this subject and there is documented cases and other past life regressions to fully convince me that it's true.
In order to understand DESTINY and the LAWS OF CAUSE AND EFFECT in relation to KARMA there is no other possible explanation.
Reincarnation within the context of the previous paragraph explains everything as to why babies die, people live in injustice, and everything else that appears to others as GOD not caring or completely indifferent!!
if you were a pretty flower in a field and a cow ate you and that next day there was a cow pie that would be would it not just in another form, thus reincarnated

THMO!
I also have done much reading on this topic. There are things I can Identify with. Others, I am unsure of. I had um, visions when I was a Child and my Parents believed me.
I have thought of doing a past life regression, and have not ruled out the possiblity of this yet.

rubendario: Can you expand on this? You got me curious!!
too hard to go into detail with one hand my experience was more of a "knowing" that someone i knew online only and i had crossed paths in other lives. i have never met this person lol.

Very fascinating!!
I think there are also reasons why we are attracted or prefer certain eras in history!
Here is food for thought: I love a battle. I love to be in battle. For some reason, I love movies or anything to do with the dark ages. I really like swords, even though I have never owned one...or took it's practice in a martial art. Why do I avoid swords even though I really like then allot? Why am I afraid that if I put one in my had I will really enjoying using and practicing it? Why is it that I do not fear death and would go straight into battle with no thought for dieing as long as it was for the right cause? I can go on for many pages!!

This is a repost from another forum of the same topic dated: Sun Jun 14, 2009 2:19 AM EST : Past Lives- Fact or Fiction?
I am just exploring this aspect of our being. But I do believe there is something to reincarnation..in fact it's written in the bible, people just refuse to see it. I don't think either of you are crazy and wish more people could experience something also to open their minds.
I too have had some childhood experiences where I would wake up my father at 3AM crying and screaming that someone is trying to kill him. He has also caught me in the middle of the night sleep dragging(like walking) around the floor, when asked what I was doing...I replied..I am wounded and need to seek safety, remembering nothing the next morning...this happened over and over many times. Why would a child drag himself around the house wounded seeking safety unconsciously?
In fact all religions will tell you that the soul is eternal, so time as we know it does not really exist..and who is to say we do not exist in alternate realities all at the same time. Slowly even science is starting to catch up with all these theories.

i am however fairly drawn to india
Very interesting!!
I believe if you examine your emotions and feelings deeply about certain things. You'll notice, like the tides of the ocean coming in and out, there is an undercurrent far and deep below..that moves in a completely different direction, so too, are deeper feelings and emotions that are far removed from your current life experiences. I think with practice and focus, a person can figure-out some of this stuff out to confirm for themselves the validity of this topic!!

when i shed the cloak of believing only in christianity and opened myself up to other things then i believe this came about. it wasnt a dream it was like a waking vision and i believed i had let this person down somehow. i am very much a woman in this life but in that other time i was a man lol
