My parents met and fell in love at first sight, and married within 4 months. They're still happy after 48 years of marriage, celebrated last month.
I'll verify my own story on that later, but so far, this one is a yes as well. I walked into his arms and felt I'd come home. It's not fireworks and stars, it's a deep and warm fire, and it feels like it will burn forever...and already has been for several lifetimes. We both felt it instantly.

Thank you, Birgitta. It's just the way it feels. I didn't "fall in love", I just recognized that I do love him. Same with him. It's how I know it's real, not "puppy love" or infatuation. We don't say it, but it shows in our other words and actions, and there hasn't been a need to say those three overused words. I've been in relationships where "I love you" was said a lot, but didn't mean anything because it was negated by everything else. This time I haven't heard or said those words as such, but they vibrate loudly out of everything else.
Yes, I believe it because I experienced it. At age 10. A visceral thing, it was. But falling love is like a season pass to a swimming pool...it lasts a season, and then it's over. So dive in while you still can!

I dont think that someone can feel real love at first sight, maybe some kind of atraction. To Love and be loved implies more than the chemicall reaction triggered by the look of a person.
