Keeneland: That song is a well known Ballad about an Irish hero James Connoly. It is not a rcist song. The IRA mentioned in it are not the Provisional IRA they are the Official IRA from the beginning of the last century. They were the Irish Army.
The official language is Irish but most people speak English. There are a few places still were Irish is only spoken and there are older people in those areas who don't have a word of English.

poletite: I CANT UNDERSTAND IT , HOW ENGLISH L.CAN BE OFFICIAL IN IRELAND.
Because for centuries of British rule the Irish language and religion was outlawed. So , over the centuries the Irish language gradually disappeared except in certain areas mainly in the west. And English became the language spoken by the majority, therefore the official language. However, the language has been revived in recent years. The opposite has happened to the religion however.
