I had my fun when I was in my teens but even then if I was involved with someone it was just them and me. Other people I knew thought it was fine to sleep with other people even if they were in a relationship.

I think mono is a preventable affliction. The Canadian and US medical associations should pool all their resources to find a cure for this dreaded disease.
OH, wait, I thought it was about something else; never mind, many think monogamy is like a disease and a probable cure is just around the proverbial corner... far too many monos in this world, it's easy to get them mixed up...

LoveMovies: It is a little bit of both, and personal values. Some people let themselves go when they are in a long term relationship and take the other for granted. I think you first need to find a person with character, and then make an effort to keep things interesting.
YEPPERS. Alot of long standing couples say "you never stop dating" thats THE MOST important thing. Continuing to date keeps the allure and the intrigue.
Many couples do just as you said...becoming complacent (one or both) and forgetting to move forward.
