Your thread is not offensive, nothing wrong with asking the question at all. The only people that cause a thread to descend into battle are the people who post offensive remarks on it.

Personaly I thinkI would have a hard time being attracted to someone who's skin was green or purple but most other colors would be ok if there personality was compatible with mine and we got along well.

That not its important, but a persons colour is not important what so ever in a relationship.
To even ask such a potentially touchy question is offensive.
Bit touchy there aren't you? The guy was just asking a question after all
It does happen that people can be attracted to certain skin colours and not others, nothing wrong with that, it's a matter of personal preference.
There can be also social pressures in a particular area that might still see dating somebody outside your race as taboo (mind you it doesn't happen in the West only); and family/friends etc might make such a relationship more problematic.
In an ideal world the last bit wouldn't really matter, but we live in the real world after all. I'm not saying I agree with such a view, but ignoring it is just playing the ostrich hiding its head in the sand. Then again, just my opinion mate
