That would really depend on how many aluminum cans I can find at the local trailer parks, and what aluminum is going for this week.
So, I would have to say: It is variable interest!

Hey, don't knock it I collected cans for years. Exit and entrance ramps of a highway is a good place to collect. I've been known to grab a few cans out of the recycle bin at the dump too.That would really depend on how many aluminum cans I can find at the local trailer parks, and what aluminum is going for this week.

I agree. Savings accounts are nothing more than a safe place to park money you don't have an immediate need for. I haven't had a savings account in over 20 years. Interest bearing checking accts make more sense but you have to keep such a large balance most people can't afford it. Plus if your balance falls below the min they hit you with a big service charge.Seriously interest has gone down so far that it's hardly worth taking it out from under the mattress and to the bank.
My bank just started charging for deposit slips which use to be free now it's $12 for a book. So you have to pay their printing costs to give them money.
No wonder people hate banks.

Ooby.. handwrite them a note with the deposit info, sign it and attach it to the check that you want to deposit and screw the deposit slips. What are they going to do... not take the money? not deposit the check?
