Well, Christianity dominates Western religious thought owing to history.
The greatest super power of the ancient world, Rome adopted Christianity as the state religion in the fourth century. As the Roman world morphed into Mediaeval Europe, the religion continued. When the European states became imperial powers the religion went around the world.
I doubt it could stated any simpler.

idk, i think religious debate is good. It allows us to take a look at other's religions so we can try and be more understanding of each other.
