pls allow me to correct u a little true. i live in bangladesh, a country of almost 150 million people. almost 90% of them are muslims. nobody really here has a problem of living as a 'moderate' or 'liberal' muslim. By the way, the definition of moderate and liberal are not the same everywhere. i guess it is also worth mentioning that bangladesh has been a democracy for more than 21 years and in this 20 year period of time, both the prime minister and the leader of the opposition in parliament have be WOMEN.

I couldn't agree with the highlighted part more.
However, I had that murdered governor in mind when I was making the point about it difficult for Muslim's to be moderate. And also you don't see many female Muslim clerics around and the ones that there are sound incredibly similar to the men, even opposing the role of women in government.
Bangladesh has been having trouble with the extremists of late too - so even the cherrypicked Muslim nation is hardly whiter than white.

I know quite a few Muslims espec through work and they are delightful people. Very charismatic, espec the guys.
I think there is a better appreciation world-wide than you perhaps realise that terrorists are a small minority of Muslims. There are plenty of terrorists groups that aren't Muslim too of course - terrorists aren't a new phenomenon, unfortunately.

This is because not too long ago a dear friend of mine (a christian and a very kind and gentle man) was confronted by someone who claimed god spoke to him. The confrontation and subsequent attack was completely unprovoked, but during the attack my friend was stabbed repeatedly and had his head severed which was then dumped in a wheelie bin.
Of course in court his attacker claimed god told him to do it. So you can maybe understand why I'm just a tad suspicious of people who make these kind of claims, especially if they live in close proximity to me as this attacker lived next door to my friend.

Having been brought up in a multicultural environment among ppl of any religion,culture,beliefs,skin color etc I've always cared about attitude ,brains,manners,education and behaviours more than anything else.Had friends of any religion and even partners.Not a problem.Actually quite the opposite.You can learn lots of different things and see how many similarities there are among them.
And strangely most religions have 1 thing in common:
