Amenda: sorry can't see the pic....
Yes, more or less....at least I watched TV news more than before.
another explosion happened this morning....more radiation has come out and if wind changes it will affect our country.
The website of our province monitorying is so busy that my old pc can't go through...too old
Thanks Amenda!
This ia very tragic event and it feels terrible not to be able to do anything to help. The wind keeps going east to this day (that is the below image about it).
I do belive our lifes will be changed in both ways. The worse being for the Japanese and their suffering still has a long way to go. I am so sorry for them.
Also bad for the rest of the world because of the radiation going into the living organisms, no to say the economic impacts.
At the same time it could be an starting point to launch a great program about alternative energies world wide, I hope.

Loks like it's heading for Canada and Mexico, look out V.
It will affect me, my family in Alaska, my family all over the US and will affect my friends whom I love as family. It has already affected the world and besides my little donation, I wish that there was more I could do to help.

I know Ive been watching and trying to learn everything madly...I never thought I would understand the workings of a nuclear reactor, but I do now...Ive been afraid to peep today as Ive been carrying a heavy heart since Fri.
lifeisadream: Is Japan's nuclear plant meltdown going to affect your life? Let us hope it is only one plant melting down.
This is a picture thread so go ahead please........
I’ve read and heard on radio that there were explosions and the fuel must to be cooled. But is it already a meltdown? They haven’t said anything like this here yet.
Anyway, the it’s hard times for Japan – I with them strength and luck.
venusenvy: Theres no point in being angry Oob... This disaster was inconcievable. Its unprecedented in history in terms of Earthquake/Tsunamis. And If your watching the coverage you see the valiant struggle being out up by the Japanese people and the authorities. The workers are knowingly giving up thier lives to try and contain the situation.
The thing that ticks me off is how engineers could built something like this and rely on safety systems that all converge at one device, a pump! Did nobody ask the question, What if the pump fails? In this case the pump itself didn't fail but the 3 sources of power to the pump failled.

Sometime failure is the greatest teacher...sadly the cost is too high
I lived in Japan many years ago. It is such bad thing to happen to such a wonderful country. The people there are very nice and humble. I have a lot of respect for their culture.

Great people indeed my heart and my respect to them too.
I was looking for information and I found this link with lots of info and videos. Here is one with comments from an expert in radiation.

Exactly a tragic event, not only for Japan but for the whole earth. The world is a whole family, Japan's disaster will impact everybody in the world, just more or less...so no country is isloalte in the world...now we can see very clearly on this point.

I agree, Japan is a wonderful country and most of Japanese are kind people.
But we can also see there are still a lot Japanese have black heart, they refused to admit what they had done to China during WW2 and still have wolf ambition which want to invade China...Compare with Germany they are so dirty, Germany's president once went down on his kness in front of tomb of those passed away during that terrble war, I admire that president so much, he is a real man who dare to admit what his country has done to other people and dare to shoulder what his ancestor had done to other people...but Japanese....
not long before, I read a news that a Japanese youth was deported by Chinese government because he stole very important map from a college...really dirty trick.
Those silly Japanese militarist should better know that today's Chinese are not same as WW2.

Sorry Tati I missed your post
Until now, we know that Japan is in crisis and they will take long time to recover and for the rest of the world we do not know for sure what the radiation impact will be on in the long and the short time.
kagero: Don't worry, You are not living in Japan. Mexico is far away from Japan.
Then what should I do? Your thoughtless words hurts me.
Just be careful and do everything to protect yourself.Mankind is going to end this life on earth someday, and all it is are boys with big ego's and hate for mankind.

Kagero This is an international place so we get many cultures here and if I might say the Japanese along with a few others cultures are the most polite people I do admire at your country and your people.
Most people have show concern and sympathy for the Japanese people and I do care about Japanese people (I even do have Japanese friends) so if I may I recommend you to read more posts so you can se that.
If my way of expressing has offended you, I do apologize to you from my heart. I never ment that.
There will be a lot of people effected, very sad. Also a food source, seafood will go up,what about the fisherman and their family's who's lives depend on the sea.they will probably ban fishing in those areas,as they should. It will effect all of us in one way or another.
Venus get your butte to Canada for a couple weeks girl!!

I think the whole world is anxiously watching Japan right now. As sad as it is for Japan, a meltdown will have far reaching consequences for planet earth. Not the least of which is the Pacific Ocean. It may well be that the Ocean is poisoned over this for generations to come. What happens in Japan affects us all.
yubba: . . . . If the cloud is passing opver the USA then it will give them something more to whine about!
I don't think people from the USA whine any more then people from other country's (if you are referring to obama threads,i have noticed that most of the people on those threads that complain about obama are not from the USA.)
